Medical suspensions for this past Saturday’s UFC 155: Dos Santos vs. Velasquez II event were handed down by the Nevada State Athletic Commission on Monday.
A total of fourteen competitors were handed suspensions which includes six-month suspensions for four fighters which includesTim Boetsch, Alan Belcher, Michael Johnson, and Todd Duffee.

Both Sheamus and Randy Orton were announced as entrants in the 30-man Royal Rumble match at Sunday night’s Smackdown taping in Richmond, Virginia. John Cena was announced as an entrant the night prior. As of this writing, there are now 27 spots remaining.

One of the featured mixed martial arts bouts featured on the DREAM.18 card on New Year’s Eve in Japan was a lightweight non-title bout between Dream champ Shinya Aoki and former MFC title holder Antonio McKee. The fighters would go into the second round, following a first round grappling match, with Aoki landing a solid right hand in the opening moments and would see McKee verbally submit. McKee had made mention in a previous interview that this would be his final bout before retirement.
January 19 stands as a critical date for the UFC middleweight division, as Vitor Belfort faces title contender Michael Bisping in Brazil. On Monday, the Nevada State Athletic Commission released the payroll figures for this past weekends UFC 155: Dos Santos vs. Velasquez II event.
The total disclosed payroll was $1,261,000 with former heavyweight champ Junior dos Santos earning $400,000 in his title loss to Cain Velasquez who picked up $200,000 for his decision victory. The next top earner was middleweight fighter Yushin Okami who earned $84,000 for his win over Alan Belcher ($37,000).

Undefeated lightweight fighter Myles ‘The Fury’ Jury improved to 11-0 with his decision victory this past over Michael Johnson at UFC 155 in Las Vegas, Nevada. In his latest video blog, Jury shows off some of his warm up preparations for his fight with Johnson as well as the walkout to the cage. The video then shifts to post-fight with the victory announcement, the walk back to the locker room and then some time spent with family and friends at the hotel.

As noted earlier, Hulk Hogan’s new restaurant Hogan’s Beach, will have it’s Grand Opening later tonight. Hogan recently spoke to TampaBay.com about the restaurant.
“It’s going to be Jimmy Buffett’s times 10; Hooters times 10. It’s a logical extension of the Hogan brand, with my image and likeness. We’re looking for something like Winter the Dolphin. In 36 years I’ve become so tangible to the public, and not just Americans. We have a chance to have an international draw.”
Hogan also discussed his role with the restaurant, and how it compares to the one he plays on television.
“I see myself almost like a general manager, creatively. I play a fake general manager on Impact Wrestling. But this is for real.”
Hogan’s Beach will also feature musical performances by King County and DJ Gemini to help kick off the opening.
ONE FC fighter, and reigning DREAM bantamweight champ, Bibiano Fernandes squared off with Yoshiro Maeda in a non-title bout as part of the DREAM.18 event for the Dec. 31, 2012 year end show at the Saitama Super Arena in Japan. Fernandes would win his fifth straight victory by choking out Maeda with a triangle choke in the first round ending things at 1:46.

Kikckboxer Melvin Manhoef squared off with former UFC fighter Dennis Kang on New Year’s Eve in Japan at the Saitama Super Arena as part of the DREAM.18 show. The two met in a middleweight bout inside the ring and saw Manhoef finish Kang with a knee to the body in the opening minute to earn his third straight victory.
