Jim Ross Blog: Can Daniel Bryan Beat John Cena?, Tito Ortiz in TNA More

WWE Hall of Famer Jim Ross put a new blog entry on JrsBarBq.com. Here are some highlights.

If Daniel Bryan can beat John Cena at SummerSlam: “Any one who is convinced that Daniel Bryan has no chance to beat John Cena at Summer Slam perhaps should reassess their take on that match. Not only can Bryan win, I think that he will win. Happy that I will be in arena watching. These two have an amazing contrast in styles and will likely close the PPV and, as all main eventers have for decades, have the obligation to close what is expected to be a strong PPV in a big way. I am very curious to see how these two mesh once the bell rings and I feel it could, arguably, well be Cena’s best match since HBK and the Punk match in Chicago. Bryan is the hottest talent in the business as we speak, in my opinion.”

Smackdown is sold out at the Toyota Center in Houston, TX with more than 14,000 people on hand(Michael Cole tells us this as we kick off the show)

Lilian Garcia introduces the World Heavyweight Champion, Alberto Del Rio. Cole introduces us to JBL’s replacement this week, Alex Riley.

Del Rio talks about Vickie Guerrero allowing him to pick out his opponent for Summerslam. He brings up Brock Lesnar, but he’s got a match already. He then brings up Booker T, but he’s a disappointment to Houston like everyone else. He then announces Ricardo Rodriguez as his opponent for Summerslam.

Vickie Guerrero comes out and tells Alberto that he’s disrespecting her. She calls Ricardo a jiggly little manchild. Del Rio suggests the Brooklyn Brawler instead. Vickie says Vince McMahon wouldn’t like that. She announces a triple threat match tonight with Rob Van Dam, Christian, and Randy Orton where the winner will face ADR for the World Title at Summerslam.

Kurt Angle Says He’s Getting Help

Kurt Angle commented on the news of his DWI arrest on his Twitter account. Here is what he wrote:

“I’m Getting Help. Much Love.”

“Thank You to All My friends Who Have Supported Me. GOD Bless!!! I Will Overcome this.”

As noted earlier, Kurt Angle was popped for his 3rd DWI following last night’s Impact tapings.

Thursday’s TNA Impact Wrestling Rating Is In

Thursday’s episode of Impact Wrestling scored a 1.03 cable TV rating, down from the previous 1.05 the week before.

Impact averaged 1.246 million viewers, down from the previous week’s 1.314 million.

The episode ranked #40 in overall viewers for Thursday night, #21 in males 18-34, and #20 in males 18-49.

Kurt Angle Arrested for Third DWI

After leaving the TNA Impact Wrestling tapings Thursday’s night in Decatur, Texas, Kurt Angle was arrested and charge with Driving While Intoxicated. Angle was booked and released later on a $2000 bail.

This marks Angle’s third arrest for the same offense. Back in March of 2011, Angle was arrested in South Dakota for “being in control of a motor vehicle while intoxicated,” he pled down to reckless driving. In September of 2011, Angle was popped for DUI in Virginia but pled guilty to reckless driving yet again and was fined $15,000.
