Rarely Seen WWE Gimmick Matches

Gimmick matches were introduced to help continue and elevate feuds. Over the years, the WWE has taken gimmick matches and made a mess. Every pay-per-view now circles around a specialty.


In the days when Hell in the Cell and TLC bouts weren’t known months in advance, it helped sell the feud. Everything has a time frame and if a feud makes it into October, expect it to continue inside Hell in a Cell. The unpredictability is gone.


Still, there are a few matches, for better or worse, that haven’t been overplayed. Let’s examine 10 rarely-seen gimmick matches in the WWE.
