New Natalya/Kidd Wedding Pics + SD MITB Participants

– The World Heavyweight Title Money in the Bank Ladder Match at next month’s pay-per-view lineup includes Fandango, Dean Ambrose, Jack Swagger, Wade Barrett, Damien Sandow, Antonio Cesaro, and Cody Rhodes as announced on June 27, 2013 taping of WWE’s SmackDown!.

– EOnline.com is featuring an article on the wedding between WWE stars Natalya and Tyson Kidd. It’s believed that footage of the wedding will be featured on “Total Divas” when it debuts later this summer. Backstage News: Low Kis Retirement Jim Cornette

– As noted earlier here on the website, Brandon “Low Ki/Senshi” Sylvestry has been telling promoters that have contacted him for bookings that he is now retired. Sylvestry is now said to be getting into voice over work. At one point he was in talks with All Japan, but reportedly requested a huge guarantee and All Japan backed off. Sylvestry has said he’d be open to making a return to wrestling if it was with a “major group.”

– Jim Cornette has reportedly dropped from 248 pounds to 205 since leaving Ring of Honor and continues to appear at conventions in the Kentucky area. He also just finished a book about pro wrestling that will be available in August. Cornette worked on the book with Memphis historian Mark James.

Top Names Off Weekend WWE Events + Indy Talents/WWE

– As noted earlier here on the website, WWE started breaking down all materials and rings at the FCW Arena in Tampa this week in preparation for the move for the new WWE Performance Center. It’s scheduled to open the weekend of 7/8 with a big grand opening for invited media on 7/11. Developmental is expected to be completely transitioned to Orlando by 7/11.

– Jamie Noble is being described as one of the main scouts for recommending talent to WWE that he finds on the independent scene as we noted earlier here on the website. This is the reason for the sudden influx of new independent talent to developmental over the last year.

– John Cena, CM Punk, Kane, and Chris Jericho are all off WWE house show events this weekend. The RAW crew shows are being headlined by Sheamus vs. Ryback, while the SmackDown crew shows are being headlined by Alberto Del Rio vs. Dolph Ziggler.

Why The Original Ambrose/Foley Feud Didn’t Happen

During an appearance on “MLW Radio”, WWE Hall of Famer Mick Foley revealed that a planned storyline with Dean Ambrose didn’t work out because he failed his medical testing. Foley in particular didn’t do well with the imPACT testing portion of the medicals when it came to his short term memory.

An angle was shot among fans during the weekend of WrestleMania 28 in Miami that hit YouTube with Ambrose insulting Foley. Foley noted it turned out for the better with Ambrose to be involved with The Shield.

– As noted earlier, TNA has removed the TNA Knockouts Tag Team Championships from the official roster page over on ImpactWrestling.com. The tag team titles were first introduced back in September 2009 and were last held by Eric Young and ODB.

– Besides Rampage Jackson, one of the newest members also includes Bound for Glory series leader, Magnus, aka “The Brit.” The current five members of Main Event Mafia include Sting, Kurt Angle, Samoa Joe, Magnus and Rampage Jackson.

– We noted late last night that Brooke Hogan got engaged over the weekend. In an update on this, the man she is getting married to is Dallas Cowboys offensive lineman Phil Costa. Just to recap for those who may have missed it last week with all the news – here are some notes on the current writing team structure in WWE:

* Stephanie McMahon is described as having a more minimized role.

* Brian “Road Dogg” James is now part of the creative team.

* Michael Hayes remains part of the creative process, but isn’t in the office as much and takes part in conference calls during major meetings.

* David “Ranjin Singh” Kapoor’s role has changed in that he delegates the work load to the writers after Vince McMahon makes any changes and works closely with TV, App and web people. This was described as more of a “show runner” position.

* Ed Koskey is now the lead writer for RAW.

* Ryan Ward (who was the writer for NXT) is now the lead writer of SmackDown.

* Of course, Vince McMahon makes the final decision and approves everything.

Larry Hennig Talks About his Grandson

Speaking to Saint Cloud Minnesota News, Larry "The Axe" Hennig offered his thoughts on his grandson being remolded as Curtis Axel, which pays homage to the legendary AWA wrestler as well as "Mr. Perfect" Curt Hennig (son of Larry Hennig and father of Curtis Axel).

“He’s no overnight sensation,” said Hennig. “He’s been working hard the past five years to get where he’s at. And he deserves it."

Hennig believes WWE would have cut ties with his grandson if he didn't possess the talent necessary to become a player for the sports-entertainment organization.

"He’s representing a billion dollar company. You have to be good or you’re going to be gone. They can’t afford any misfires there," said Hennig.

Sandra Toffoloni, sister-in-law of Chris Benoit, was interviewed by The2Counter.com on the tragic double murder/suicide in 2007. Here are some highlights.

Reports of Chris Benoit’s breakdown was caused by Concussion Syndrome: “You know, evidence showed that on the Sunday before he committed suicide, he was booking flights to get to the show he was scheduled to appear on in Beaumont, Texas. This shows that there was a moment, however brief, that he thought he could get away with it. I don’t believe in the brain damage theory. He killed 2 people and believed he could go wrestle. The concussion theory doesn’t really stick with me.”

WWE Annoyed At Rey Mysterio For Doctor Choice

Recently Rey Mysterio had some surgery (when will he be finally healthy?) with Dr. James Andrews in Birmingham, it is reported that WWE were not happy that Rey was using Dr. David Chao of San Diego after a USA Today article revealed that Chao had been banned by two hospitals from performing surgery due to "his alcohol consumption led to poor quality of care".

FCW Update

WWE's developmental system began breaking down their materials and the rings at the FCW Arena in Tampa, Florida yesterday. All the materials are being taken to Winter Park. Florida for the new WWE Performance Center and will be transported this weekend to the Center for their opening on July 8.

A number of FCW staff will be departing as part of the transition. Rob Naylor, who received high praise working on the creative side of FCW under Dusty Rhodes, is also leaving the company. There have been some conflicting reports that trainer Norman Smiley will be leaving developmental as well.

Brock Lesnar’s WWE Status, Synopsis for WWE’s Mid-South DVD, Payback

“Mid-South was one of the hottest wrestling promotions of the 1980s where future stars such as Shawn Michaels, Jake Roberts, Ted DiBiase, Junkyard Dog and Hacksaw Duggan began their careers. Consider some of the best talent with personas that blurred the lines between good and evil. This 3-disc compilation features the biggest matches and biggest stories of the Mid-South promotion and provides a look into early the careers of some of wrestling’s greatest legends.”
- The official theme song for WWE’s Payback pay-per-view is “Another Way Out” by Hollywood Undead.
- At one point, Brock Lesnar was scheduled for WWE’s Payback pay-per-view, likely to do the match with Triple H that ended up taking place at Extreme Rules. Lesnar is even featured on some of the promotional material for Payback but is not expected to appear on WWE TV any time soon.

- It appears WWE are planting the seeds for more members of The Wyatt Family to debut on TV. Right now, we know that Bray Wyatt will be coming up with NXT Tag Team Champions Erick Rowan and Luke Harper. The video that aired on Monday also featured what appeared to be NXT wrestler Garrett Dylan and NXT Diva Bayley in minor roles as Wyatt’s “followers.”
- There were reportedly 3 or 4 re-writes of Monday’s RAW from Hartford, between last Friday afternoon and Monday afternoon. This includes Vince McMahon showing up on Monday afternoon and telling writers to re-do the whole script. WWE officials were very paranoid about going up against Game 7 of the NBA Playoffs.
- WWE officials are once again interested in pushing the tag team division. Over the next few weeks, we may see several undercard talents put together in new tag teams. This latest tag team kick is part of why The Usos are being pushed to feud with Tag Team Champions The Shield.

- We’ve noted how Jack Swagger has missed a string of recent WWE live events and TV tapings, including this week’s RAW and SmackDown.
WWE has removed Swagger from all events until the June 29th live event in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. It’s worth noting that Swagger’s next court date for his DUI is on June 25th, just a few days before he’s scheduled to return.

Chael Sonnen And ‘Shogun’ Rua Set To Headline UFC on FOX Sports 1 In Boston On Aug. 17th

The main event for UFC On FOX Sports 1 was finally announced on UFC Tonight after months of speculation. Mauricio “Shogun” Rua vs Chael Sonnen will headline the stacked Boston card on August 17th. Sonnen made sure to throw some verbal jabs at rival Wanderlei Silva along with the main event announcement.

UFC on Fox Sports 1: Shogun vs. Sonnen is expected to take place on Aug. 17 at the TD Garden in Boston, Massachusetts. The promotion was looking to book the two for June 15 in Winnipeg after Rua’s original opponent, Antônio Rogério Nogueira, withdrew due to a back injury. The UFC was unable to book the bout so the two light heavyweights will now meet in Boston on the soon to be launched Fox Sports 1 television channel.

WWE Focusing on Tag Teams Again, New Members of The Wyatt Family?, RAW

- It appears WWE are planting the seeds for more members of The Wyatt Family to debut on TV. Right now, we know that Bray Wyatt will be coming up with NXT Tag Team Champions Erick Rowan and Luke Harper. The video that aired on Monday also featured what appeared to be NXT wrestler Garrett Dylan and NXT Diva Bayley in minor roles as Wyatt’s “followers.”

- There were reportedly 3 or 4 re-writes of Monday’s RAW from Hartford, between last Friday afternoon and Monday afternoon. This includes Vince McMahon showing up on Monday afternoon and telling writers to re-do the whole script. WWE officials were very paranoid about going up against Game 7 of the NBA Playoffs.

- WWE officials are once again interested in pushing the tag team division. Over the next few weeks, we may see several undercard talents put together in new tag teams. This latest tag team kick is part of why The Usos are being pushed to feud with Tag Team Champions The Shield.

WWE Payback match added **contains spoiler**

At Tuesday night's Smackdown TV tapings, WWE officially announced a three-way Intercontinental Championship match for the Payback PPV on June 16.

As set up on Monday's Raw, it will be Intercontinental Champion Wade Barrett vs. Fandango vs. The Miz for the title.

Terrell suffers multiple bruises from Slammiversary PPV match

TNA Knockout Taryn Terrell (formerly General Manager of WWE's ECW Tiffany) suffered multiple bruises to her legs, arms, and elbows in the Last Knockout Standing match against Gail Kim at the Slammiversary PPV on Sunday.

On Wednesday morning TMZ published photos of Taryn's bruises. Taryn was also quoted on the match exceeding well above the expectations and even being considered one of the top matches from the PPV.

"People underestimate me for being blonde and bubbly, but I'm an athlete, and I have a passion for wrestling," Terrell told TMZ. "I'll do whatever it takes to prove people wrong."

Austin’s Show Airing Tonight, Foley and Family at SmackDown, Graham

- Wrestling legend Superstar Graham will be having a kidney stone removed shortly.

- WWE Hall of Famer Mick Foley noted on Twitter that he was visiting friends at last night’s SmackDown tapings in Long Island. Foley brought his family along and added that his kids still have fun at WWE events. Here is Foley’s daughter Noelle with Layla:

- Season 3 of Steve Austin’s Redneck Island on CMT will premiere tonight at 9:30pm EST, right after the Country Music Awards are over. Another new episode will air this Saturday night at 9pm.

Rosa Mendes Update, News on JR’s UK Tour, WWE’s MSG DVD

- Jim Ross noted on Twitter that the promoters of his upcoming UK tour may be adding another event in Scotland. Ross told fans to stay tuned for more details.

- WWEDVDNews.com reports that the new title for WWE’s MSG DVD that comes out on August 27th is, “The Best of WWE at Madison Square Garden.”

- It looks like Rosa Mendes will be returning to the road for WWE before late July. She’s being advertised for an appearance with Mark Henry at Fry’s Electronics in Austin, Texas on July 22nd at 11am.

- Randy Orton appeared on FOX & Friends on Tuesday morning to promote 12 Rounds: Reloaded. You can see the video below:

- WWE will return to Uniondale, New York on November 25th for a live RAW episode. The pre-sale is going on right now and the password is WWERAW.

- The dark main event after last night’s SmackDown tapings in Uniondale saw Kane, Daniel Bryan and Sheamus defeat The Shield via DQ. The DQ came when Roman Reigns hit Sheamus with a steel chair. It came down to Dean Ambrose in the ring, who caught a Brogue Kick to end the tapings.

Brock Lesnar Plans Nixed, Payback Theme, Preview for WWE’s Mid-South DVD

- Courtesy of WWEDVDNews.com, here is the official synopsis for WWE’s Legends of Mid-South Wrestling DVD and Blu-ray:

“Mid-South was one of the hottest wrestling promotions of the 1980s where future stars such as Shawn Michaels, Jake Roberts, Ted DiBiase, Junkyard Dog and Hacksaw Duggan began their careers. Consider some of the best talent with personas that blurred the lines between good and evil. This 3-disc compilation features the biggest matches and biggest stories of the Mid-South promotion and provides a look into early the careers of some of wrestling’s greatest legends.”

- The official theme song for WWE’s Payback pay-per-view is “Another Way Out” by Hollywood Undead.

- At one point, Brock Lesnar was scheduled for WWE’s Payback pay-per-view, likely to do the match with Triple H that ended up taking place at Extreme Rules. Lesnar is even featured on some of the promotional material for Payback but is not expected to appear on WWE TV any time soon.

More on Jack Swagger’s WWE Status, Swagger Gets Stitches

- We’ve noted how Jack Swagger has missed a string of recent WWE live events and TV tapings, including this week’s RAW and SmackDown.

WWE has removed Swagger from all events until the June 29th live event in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. It’s worth noting that Swagger’s next court date for his DUI is on June 25th, just a few days before he’s scheduled to return.

On Tuesday, Swagger posted a photo of his hand with stitches:

Curtis Axel feuds

The wrestling world has been abuzz since the unveiling of Curtis Axel, Paul Heyman’s latest client. Since the rebranding, Axel has a newfound edge, intensity, and spark that was previously dimmed by the horrible gimmick initially defined his career. With Triple H being a fan of his and also having been the Rock’s training partner, Axel certainly had the connections to get where he is now. But given the aforementioned gimmick that he was burdened with, there’s no question that he’s worked to get to where he is—several superstars wondered aloud how he could be successful with such a mundane, ridiculous name, including Randy Orton, who recently echoed that sentiment when discussing Axel’s potential and past. Now that Axel is positioned to be a high-level heel, he’ll certainly need a few feuds to ingrain his new heel personality into the conscious of the casual wrestling fan.
