The wrestling world has been abuzz since the unveiling of Curtis Axel, Paul Heyman’s latest client. Since the rebranding, Axel has a newfound edge, intensity, and spark that was previously dimmed by the horrible gimmick initially defined his career. With Triple H being a fan of his and also having been the Rock’s training partner, Axel certainly had the connections to get where he is now. But given the aforementioned gimmick that he was burdened with, there’s no question that he’s worked to get to where he is—several superstars wondered aloud how he could be successful with such a mundane, ridiculous name, including Randy Orton, who recently echoed that sentiment when discussing Axel’s potential and past.
